I'd like to move to Manhattan one day, and Google Maps recently added satellite imagery of the city. They have the best aerial photo of the city I've found so far, so I adapted my map knitting Java program to download all the tile images and generate a single 12,800×18,432 (236 Mpixel) color image. The website displays maps using small tiled JPEGs and they are randomly watermarked with Google copyrights, so the resulting image fidelity is not as good as it could be. I don't have a browsable version of this image because it's easily viewable from the Google Map website. All of the images below are at full res. |
