I have an obsession with high-resolution, high-fidelity digital images. Whenever I manage to obtain one I'm like a little kid, poring over every detail of it at full resolution, zooming in on interesting parts, and pretty much irritating everyone around me because I won't shut up about it. Finding large images is obviously pretty difficult. All the images in my small collection are at least 100 megapixels with some as large as 900 megapixels. These are not pictures that can be viewed lightly. It can take up to 10 minutes just to load an image into a viewer, but once loaded, panning around is fairly speedy. The samples on these pages are scaled down or cropped portions of the full-sized images. NOTE: I've added Zoomify interfaces to most of the images in my collection. This allows you to preview the image at full-res via a Flash 6 interface without downloading the whole image. Here are the images I've collected so far. Click one for more information.
